After adopting a simple strategy of eating what she wanted, albeit in smaller portions, she's been awarded the title of 'greatest loser' by her Slimming World group.

By Ellis Whitehouse and Neil ShawSamantha Cobb joined Slimming World in a bid to do something about the problem, and remarkably, claims to have achieved this feat without sacrificing any of the foods she enjoyed eating. According to, Samantha Cobb, who is 49 years old, has been awarded the title of"greatest loser" by her Slimming World group.

However, she found the members to be incredibly supportive and welcoming, making her feel at ease."They actually enrolled my husband in July, so he's doing it with me," she said."It's nice you don't have to stick to what you have to eat, you can have what you like; roast dinners, spaghetti bolognese, curries, everything. You can still have that on the plan from Slimming World.

While some people may find the plan challenging, Samantha she found it quite straightforward. Instead of gradually reducing her intake of certain foods, she cut them out entirely at the beginning and did not feel the urge to have them again.She added:"I've lost a lot more than I thought; I thought I would only lose about five stone within the first year, and I've doubled it. I'm now five pounds off my 11 stone mark.
