Chronic pain is just one health concern women may have after giving birth. Complicated pregnancies or deliveries can cause long-lasting effects to mothers' physical and mental health, researchers find.

I have chronic pain reading your crap npr!

I had a dude mansplaining pregnancy to me. Men have no idea what our bodies, lives, minds go through. Thank you, NPR, for shining a light on these issues.

You can consider yourself so lucky, it's your mother didn't feel that way about you. And aboard U and allowed the abortion clinics to sell the parts of your child that you just a borders for the elite and the satanus to do with what they want to with it such as being cannibalism.

We need to talk more about Endometriosis as well... my sister has HORRIBLE chronic pain because of complications from endometriosis... she cries almost daily and loses hope all the time

Sounds to me like there is “another reason” for physicians to pad their bankrolls. Gee, what has humankind suffered for centuries BEFORE big pharma found chemicals to mask every ache and pain?

Moms, can we please stop encouraging each other to bounce back? That pressure almost killed me in the fourth trimester. My story:

I blame pro lifers for the narrative that pregnancy and delivery is a walk in the park and the reduced training for healthcare professionals that serve them. I had midwives for all of my care and delivery and felt properly cared for. But I've heard horror stories.

So can the guilt of murdering an unborn child. Years of remorse can follow knowing you killed someone for no better reason than you were ready to have sex but not ready for the consequences. Trying to keep your dress size isn't worth killing a baby over..

Thank you for talking about this!

Literally every woman I know who has given birth has at least one long-term problem from pregnancy and/or childbirth. Childbirth remains a dangerous endeavor.

Dr: So, does the pain stop you from doing your normal daily activities? Woman: It should but see I don't have the option to not do my daily activities Dr: take Tylenol and go to physical therapy

I work at the hospital where my son was born. I had such a traumatic birth that I couldn’t go in through the front door of the hospital without shaking and sweating and hearing the words “injury, aspirate, c-section” echo in my head. I used the side door for a year.

Long-lasting effects indeed. After a c-section I developed a desmoid tumor under my scar. I had surgery followed by years of cat scans and oncology appointments to make sure the tumor wasn’t growing back.

Currently nursing residual back pain (my child is 2!!!) 😫😫😫😭😭. I had terrible muscle (not back) pain for MONTHS after delivery and the OB was less than concerned. He stated I could go to PT if I felt like it--last appointment with him 😒

NY fixed this concern.

I had a horrendous delivery & recovery & decided never again, & I had no more children. I was grateful that my son was healthy, because I was terrified to ever become pregnant again. He's 33 years old & married, & the horror I went through is still to this day fresh in my mind.

This information needs to be out there everywhere. Having a baby can sometimes be life threatening. It can have lasting physical & emotional effects for years. I had a great pregnancy, but a horrible delivery with physical wounds that took 2 & a half years to resolve.

In NY, women can now abort their babies in the 4th trimester.

One of the reason reproductive rights are so important.

No, really? I mean, it's not like women have been saying this forever or anything.

Why doesn’t NPR support the people’s revolution in Venezuela? NPR is a Russian Propaganda network in disguise.

Mother & infant mortality are worse in states like Texas than they are almost anywhere in the world. The stats easily found in CIA World Fact Book.

I was recently diagnosed with PPA & PTSD after, what I will gently call, a traumatic L&D. I think a lot of these issues are made worse by, what I refer to as, 'the glamorous world of Instagram Momming'. I felt so alone after my birth complications.

Oh hey, says I, sitting here with 18 year old abdominal wall muscle tears and separation that's never been quite severe enough to have surgery but sure as hell hurts all around my torso at the end of each day .

NPR voting for infanticide

Force people to have babies tho

So true!

So kill them, kill them all!

I agree with mother's killing there baby, It is there choice.

More reasons why abortion exists, and will forever remain legal.

'Fourth Trimester' Problems Can Have Long-Term Effects On A Mom's HealthA woman's health issues related to pregnancy don't always end at the baby's birth. Scientists say complications from childbirth, such as hypertension or diabetes, increase her risk of heart disease. This is a great story Women’s health care has never been taken seriously. As a father involved in multiple pregnancies and births I was shocked how common some of these problems were for women, with very little being done about them. Men’s health has never suffered such lack of attention. Womens healthcare in general isn't taken seriously. We arent even properly taught the early warning signs of a heart attack which can be vastly different from that of a man's.
