Susan Delacourt: Stephen Harper wasn’t obsessed with data. Here’s why Justin Trudeau is

Justin Trudeau appears at the head of a classroom, scribbling on a whiteboard all the steps in creating the annual budget.

I talked to a member of Trudeau’s team deeply involved in this year’s budget preparation, who said he would prefer to speak on background. He said he hadn’t noticed just how much data-gathering had figured into the government’s planning until we drew it to his attention, “but yeah, there is a lot.” This whole fixation on data is, first and foremost, a big product of the COVID-19 pandemic, especially in the realm of health care. Trudeau has talked often about how the government learned in the early days of the pandemic just how little information it had at its fingertips.

“We weren’t as effective as we could have been at deploying scarce resources, because we just didn’t have the picture that we needed to have.” “It is shocking what we inherited in departments like industry, and others, in terms of the investments that had not been made in understanding huge swaths of the economy,” the adviser said.

SusanDelacourt TorontoStar Trudeau is obsessed with Data? LOLOLOLOLOLHAHAHA! He is only obsessed with Identity politics and corruption. Throw in a little Chinese election interference and there you go.

SusanDelacourt TorontoStar He knows his child benefits reduced child poverty by 30% and then chose not to increase it. I guess the data isn't really that important to him.

SusanDelacourt TorontoStar JT could not understand the most basic data: that budgets don’t balance themselves, and that you should not spend beyond your means. But do go on.

SusanDelacourt TorontoStar Harper was Canada’s worst PM, why compare him to Trudea, who is the best of the best?

SusanDelacourt TorontoStar Yeah he destroyed it...he cut funding for stats Canada ...Harper was obsessed...obsessed with destroying it! Burned books...destroyed data and muzzled scientist! Data is the cons enemy...it was on Harper's enemy list!

SusanDelacourt Too bad Trudeau wasn’t obsessed with monetary policy .. then maybe are debt would be higher than the last 4 PMs put together

SusanDelacourt 😂😂😂😭😭😭🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤡🤡🤡

SusanDelacourt TorontoStar Then Trudeau throws all the data in the garbage and does whatever TF he wants.

SusanDelacourt TorontoStar Stephen Harper Stephen Harper Stephen Harper Stephen Harper, seriously when does it end?

SusanDelacourt TorontoStar We all hope, when we're flying, that the pilot has all the data needed to get us safely to our destination. We don't think of the pilot as a geek. The same applies to managers and political leaders who require accurate and sufficient data to manage the government's programs.

SusanDelacourt TorontoStar To tie Susan's recent pieces. Men do not like Trudeau. Now he is a data geek.. ' Men do not like data geeks.' (Put opposite since apparently females like Trudeau) 'Females like data geeks' 😳

SusanDelacourt TorontoStar Nuff said

SusanDelacourt TorontoStar Could Susan’s credibility go any lower.🙄

SusanDelacourt TorontoStar Yeah why let facts get in the way of an argument.

SusanDelacourt TorontoStar “Pardon me if I don’t think of monetary policy” 🤡

SusanDelacourt TorontoStar Omg, really? This is the most ridiculous, flagrantly false article. Susan Delacourt, liberal_party water carrier 👇👇

SusanDelacourt TorontoStar Justin Trudeau also thinks budgets balance themselves and thinks you can grow the economy from the heart outwards No wonder the most Canadians in history are forced to use food banks under the Liberals watch due to the Liberals Inflationary Economic Policies

At least Harper understood data.

Liars

Here’s some data, under Trudeau violent crime is up 32%, average house costs are up 97%, inflation highest in 40 years, and record number of food bank users. Yay to data.

Of course it's made in Canada. You can tell by the stench of it.

Harper put great effort into eliminating Data, hiding Facts! Eliminated Long Form Census, Defunded Science Research, Muzzled Scientists, Controlled Media, Eliminated Nat Science Advisor, 700 Envir Can positions gone, Destroyed Science Libraries, many more! No Data = No criticism

aren't political parties supposed to pay themselves for data and research. theft of taxdollars

To bad Trudeau wasn’t obsessed with monetary policy .. otherwise he wouldn’t have accumulated more debt then the last 5 PMs

This seems backward.

Obsession with Data doesn't equal obsession with truth. 'There are lies, damn lies and statistics'

Harper didn’t care what people thought. He did what his ideological allies wanted and ignored actual needs.

Isn't it a good idea to keep data to see if and what is working ? Flying by the seat of your pants is not really practical IMHO!😆
