These are the easy health hacks that *actually* work.

“I love them, they’re like a superbomb of nutrients and an easy way to get a lot of goodness with minimal effort,” says Gabriela. “It depends on what’s in them, but a good place to start is to look for ones containing all the cruciferous vegetables, such as broccoli, kale, spirulina and wheatgrass.”

They can, however, be expensive, with some brands costing as much as £100 for a 30-day supply. “Ideally we would eat our green leafy magnesium rich vegetables fresh in their original structure, to retain the fibre content and other key nutrients,” says Karina. “When a food product changes its original food structure it quickly loses key micronutrients. The science is limited on the effectiveness of green powders, so you may be wasting your money.

“Many wellness advocates staunchly believe celery juice is the miracle cure for many illnesses such as chronic fatigue syndrome, autoimmune disorders, digestive problems and Lyme disease,” says Karina. “While celery has a number of health benefits, as it contains, flavonoids and phytonutrients which are anti-inflammatory, you are better off adding a range of vegetables to your juice to have a broader spectrum of nutrients.

Gabriela acknowledges that celery is “definitely still having its moment in the spotlight”. Sales of the vegetable have soared in the last few years after celery juice became an Instagram sensation , and Waitrose reported a boost of 30 per cent in sales of organic celery. But though it’s undeniably healthy, Peacock is “sceptical about some of the claims”, she says. “It contains a lot of vitamin K, which is good for bone and heart health, and vitamin C for immunity.
