Linda has been open and candid about her journey

Linda Nolan's intense battle with cancer has spanned nearly two decades and sadly continue to have a hold on her life following her recent health update.

The former St Catherine's Catholic Secondary School pupil explained how she noticed the lump and "foolishly left it" before being diagnosed with the cancer and a 'small courgette' sized lump by the beginning of the following year. Linda previously told the Mirror: "I had a lump in my left breast and I’d had a blocked milk duct years and years ago. That was fine and they didn’t need to do anything with it.

Brian had worked as the Nolans' tour manager until 1983 and became his wife's manager after she left the group. Having lost her husband of 26 years, Linda was left in a deep depression while fighting breast cancer but was given the all clear in 2006. Getting the all-clear After two devastating years, Linda underwent a single mastectomy as part of her treatment. She got the all-clear in 2007 but was then diagnosed with cellulitis and lymphedema in her arm. Linda found out her cancer was incurable cancer. The cancer which is in her liver came back three times after her all-clear from breast cancer in 2006.

In an extract from their new book Linda & Anne: Stronger Together published in the Mirror she tells of the emotional moment she discovered her incurable cancer had spread and how she feared burdening her family with the diagnosis after Anne had already shared her heartbreaking news. Cancer spreads again Sadly, on Monday, March 27, Linda was left having to reveal her cancer has spread once again, this time to her brain. In a heartbreaking interview on Good Morning Britain she said: "I just want to tell you unfortunately for me my cancer has spread to my brain that's obviously frightening because there isn't much treatment for brain cancer except for chemotherapy.
