run in collaboration with Athlete Training and Health, and UT Physicians Orthopedics. Visitors will be able to use pro-style weight rooms and an indoor turf field, as well as outdoor turf field for community use, the press release details. Memberships will be available for community members to use the facility. The sports park also offers opportunities to partner with area school districts and sports leagues, according to Dr. Kevin J. Coupe, vice chair of clinical operations in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery with McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston.
“These sports parks become extremely important in their respective communities because they care for athletes of all ages and abilities,” Coupe said in the press release. The hospital’s expansion is needed for the growing population of Cy-Fair and northwest Houston, Ashworth explained.“The growth within Cypress has been extremely exciting, but it also means we have to make sure we are doing our best to appropriately grow in order to provide the level of care that the community has come to expect,” Ashworth said when the expansion was announced last year.
