Guy has caused more problems than he's solved with his bits on his show designed to rile and anger people against cycling.

The worst possible example to follow

theJeremyVine Using an confrontational angry vigilante cyclist with zero hazard perception and concern for his own safety isn’t the way forward to promote cycling.

theJeremyVine Just because he uses a bike that doesn’t make him a cyclist, He’s a commuter going to work etc.

theJeremyVine Says him in his Christmas tree suit and intense helmet light and multiple cameras and cellphone on his bike...

theJeremyVine Those lycra shorts are sometimes see through when they're stretched. Not a pretty sight.

Cycling in London for 20+ years & never felt the urge to put people off their sausage sarny of a morning. I adhere to the laws, like when driving/riding Vespa. The best cyclists are those who have had some sort of training. Knobs in all areas, so pointless generalising.

theJeremyVine I've never understood the cyclists that dress up like Lance Armstrong to get to work or pop to Tesco. Albeit those are fewer and fewer it seems....so I agree on the portrayal change needed.

theJeremyVine Get rid of this - might help.

Seems a bit manky cycling around in your work clothes, getting all hot and sweaty, then smelling all day. When I cycle to work I wear something appropriate, then shower at work and change into work clothes.

theJeremyVine And please, no more helmets on utility cyclists.

The man is a self obsessed cretin with a fixation on cyclist being ‘victims’. He needs a reality check.

I wonder why all the focus on the lycra cyclist and not the leather clad biker who thinks he's Valentino Rossi?

'cycle in anything you liked We DO - the media just don't show it!

If he wants to improve portrayal of cyclists, he should just leave social media.

I think Sam Smith’s outfit in high viz would be ideal, just add a contrasting belt and a helmet with lights on it.

Vine should be sponsored by Stanley. He’s such a tool.

Vine is not a good advert for anything, prick

Many thanks for the summary of the research referred to in the Times article 👍 myglutesarehotterthanyours

You don’t need trainers to run, but they help

He should probably stay off his bike then. Bloke is the worst advert for cycling there is.

Jeremy Vine is not a good advert for cycling and cyclists.

Stop using the roads as a racetrack and the perception will change pretty quick

What, to self important busy body Tossers they’ve become like him? Yep, sounds good 👍

He has a point but I wouldn’t want to cycle to the office in the clothes I’d be wearing all day; rain nor shine. Besides, lycra is more comfortable and practical when moving - I might wear that all day, only dress code permitting.

Oh JeremyVineOn5 Hardly the best ambassador for cycling or cyclists, whatever they choose to wear. An entitled journalist biased in his own self importance

Imagine having to sit next to that after his cycle to work in his shirt and suit! Notice it has to be dark clothing this clown wears so much for promiting road safety!

Not the greatest advert for Cycling is he, he has an obsession with attacks on potential new cyclists (yes current motorists)

Perhaps theJeremyVine should move away from attacking the very market for new bikers - drivers. All he does is promote cycling in a negative light.

People already do cycle on and wearing what they want. The petrosexuals' histrionics will never change.

The guys an fool. He's had more near misses in the last 6 months than I've had in 6 years. Couldn't be anything to do with getting likes on social media 🤔

The Lycra and race bike riders are generally the best behaved

Absolutely right.

How about this? I wear whatever I like and u f**k off.

Ah the lycra and race bikes. The two wheeled version of the boy racer.

Suits and GoPros whilst weaving into oncoming traffic...

and helmets
