PETALING JAYA: Public Service Department (PSD) scholarships for first degrees this year will not include the medical and dental fields.

According to its website, the PSD said that among the fields that would not be sponsored this year would be the medical, dental, pharmacy and education fields.

Also included in the fields that would not be sponsored were nursing, paramedical and pre-service programmes. Applicants for scholarships were open to candidates who were pursuing their first degrees at public universities, premier polytechnics and government-linked universities that had been set by the JPA, via variable loans. Applications close on April 2.
