What's the %of asbestos in the watch?

And I’m sure Janssen won’t do anything nefarious with the data.

'We’re excited to work with Johnson & Johnson, a leader in the medical community, as we learn about the impact Apple Watch can have in delivering better health outcomes.” said Jeff Williams, Chief Operating Officer of Apple Inc.

said Dr. Paul Stoffels, Vice Chair of the Executive Committee and Chief Scientific Officer of Johnson & Johnson.

Based on the insights generated through this research program, we may be able to develop new ways to detect other health conditions earlier in the future that also exhibit measurable physiological symptoms.”

Too many people living with AFib are unaware of their risk, and earlier detection, diagnosis and treatment of AFib could significantly improve outcomes.

“We’re excited about the potential of common, wearable technology to aid in the earlier detection and prevention of a frequent cause of stroke.

The study goals include the assessment of the outcomes of a heart health engagement program on Apple Watch, and of the impact of a medication adherence program with a Johnson & Johnson app.

The research study will analyze the impact of Apple Watch on the early detection and diagnosis of AFib and the prevention of strokes for individuals aged 65 years or more.

using an app from Johnson & Johnson in combination with Apple Watch’s irregular rhythm notifications and ECG app in the diagnosis and health outcomes of people with atrial fibrillation (AFib).

On January 17, 2019 Johnson & Johnson announced that Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a member of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies, entered into a research study in collaboration with Apple Inc. to investigate the efficiency of a new heart health program

Working alongside the medical community, not only can we inform people of certain health conditions, we also hope to advance discoveries in heart science.” Jeff Williams said.

“Every week we receive incredible customer letters about how Apple Watch has affected their lives, including learning that they have AFib. These stories inspire us and we're determined to do more to help people understand their health.

“This might seem like a simple study, but we think this is a really special time. Hopefully we can save a lot of lives.” said Apple's COO Jeff Williams in an interview with CNBC.

The heart rate sensor data provided over time are collected for analysis by Apple and researchers from Stanford University School of Medicine.

The participation in the study is voluntary. The 'Apple Heart Study' app is available for download from the AppStore and Apple does not have access to data directly identifying the patient.

The patch should be worn by the patient for 7 days. The ECG data connected over this time period are used to determine whether the irregular rhythm is due to atrial fibrillation or another type of rhythm anomaly.

In some cases, the doctor may recommend a BioTelemetry electrocardiogram (EKG) patch for more monitoring and sends the patient a free of cost patch by mail.

If an irregular rhythm is detected, the app notifies the patient and offers him a free video consultation on iPhone with a medical physician analyzing the data. The video consultation connects the patient with a licensed primary care provider.

The app passively monitors the heart rate and the heart rhythm.

A special app in Apple Watch uses software algorithms to separate the heart rhythms from other signals and is able to identify an irregular heart rhythm.

To calculate the heart rate and rhythm, a sensor in Apple Watch gathers optical signals from four distinct points on the wrist. Green LED lights flashing hundreds of times per second and light-sensitive photodiodes enable to detect the amount of blood flowing through wrist.

Atrial fibrillation is very dangerous, because many people do not experience any symptoms, so it often goes on not-diagnosed.

AFib is an irregular heartbeat that can lead to the formation of blood clots resulting in stroke, heart failure and other severe heart complications. AFib arrhythmia increases the stroke risk five-fold, and accounts for almost one-third of all strokes, with high risk of death.

In September 2017 Apple launched 'Apple Heart Study', a first-in-class innovative research using the Apple Watch ability to collect data on heart rhythms anomalies and notify users about potential atrial fibrillation (Afib) condition.

A research study published in November 2017 reveals that Apple Watch is capable of detecting common health problems, such as sleep apnea with 90% accuracy and hypertension with 82% accuracy.

In September, 2017 Apple upgraded the 'Heart Rate' app on Apple Watch with watchOS 4. This enables Apple Watch to actively alert users of a high heart rate when resting, a possible sign of heart issues.

The EKG reader inside Apple Watch is the first Apple Watch accessory to obtain FDA granted clearance to be used as a medical device.

This could allow Apple to ubiquitously use its first wearable product, Apple Watch and the iPhone for medical uses, with expanded capabilities in the future.

In 2017 Apple was among 9 leading-edge technology companies chosen by the FDA to test the rapid development and release of new health products.

Is Apple Watch becoming a symbol for the ill-hearted?

Hope it’s rate of accepting false inputs is significantly lower than this scary iPhone X I bought!

Well if it uses a wireless radiation device then you are harming the heart with the pulsed nonstop microwave frequency.

The same johnson and johnson that couldn’t detect asbestos in its baby powder? 🤔

No reports on the treason though?
