Life Lion helicopters are now based in three counties.

The newest helicopter in the Penn State Health Life Lion fleet takes off from Penn State Health Lancaster Medical Center on Monday, March 6, 2023. Photo credit: Lauren Adele LittlePenn State Health has stationed a brand new Life Lion helicopter and base at its Lancaster Medical Center in East Hempfield Township, saying it will provide faster access to trauma care for people in Lancaster County and surrounding areas.

It’s the same model as the one based in Dauphin County, with Penn State Health touting them as the two largest aeromedical helicopters in the state.
