A two-bedroom cottage in Dallas, Texas is on the market for $199,000.Insider combed Realtor.com listings to find homes that $200,000 can buy across the country.The $200,000 budget goes farthest in spots from Ohio to Florida, but always research any area's pros and cons first.

The 1,336-square-foot home, built in 1926, has hardwood floors in many rooms and is being marketed as “vintage.”Only all-cash buyers are welcome because "the home is due for repairs." On the plus side, the listing says you can drive a golf cart to the nearby lakefront. The condo, which the listing says is one of the only updated units in the building, features a distinct curved wall that opens up the living room and creates additional closet space.The building — which is a short walk to the Museum of Contemporary Art, Navy Pier and the Winter’s Jazz Club— has a doorman, a rooftop deck, a gym, a laundry room, and bike storage.

The home's laundry/mud room opens up to a deck in the backyard. It's a fairly short walk to the waterfront of Lake Erie.In the New York City borough of Brooklyn, a one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment is on the market for $200,000. This co-op building, called Shore Gardens, was built in 1967. Apartment #3D has four closets and boasts waterfront views of Fresh Creek, a waterway that empties into Jamaica Bay.Asking $186,000 is a two-bedroom condo in West Palm Beach, Florida, about 70 miles north of Miami.
