Prepackaged shrimp that was distributed to retailers across four states has been recalled due to a possible health risk. The voluntary recall is initiated by Kawasho Foods USA Inc. for its 4-ounce canned GEISHA Medium Shrimp.

"There is a possibility that the product has been under processed, which could lead to the potential for spoilage organisms or pathogens," the New York based food manufacturer said in its announcement. Kawasho Foods USA Inc. announces a voluntary recall of a Single Lot of GEISHA Medium Shrimp 4oz. because of possible health risk.The recalled product lot number is LGC12W12E22 and the "best by" code date, found on the bottom of the can is "MAY/12/2026," according to the recall announcement.
