The patient suffered from a rare type of cancer in his abdomen

Amazing pictures show a tumour weighing 30kg - the weight of a nine year old - after it was removed from a man's stomach. A 55-year-old man had come to the hospital unable to walk and complaining of pain and swelling in his stomach.

Doctors discovered the mammoth tumour, measuring 64cm tall and 46cm wide. It was also learnt that the patient suffered from a rare type of cancer in his abdomen, known as retroperitoneal liposarcoma. The man went under the knife on February 23 for a six-hour surgery to remove the tumour. Doctors at the Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya Cancer Institute in Uttar Pradesh, northern India, completed the surgery successfully.
