I have a social science background and studies like this were meant to be used to enhance inclusiveness, wellness and teamwork. Instead, they've been used against individuals.
The psychological & physical impact of isolation is well known and has perfected the art of separating and isolating individuals to ensure they have no support system. They also try to force (fake) friendships a la kindergarten teachers telling class to be nice to the new kid.

Curious how this research might help anyone at all beyond providing a good go with a great salary for the person conducting the research. Reading this article or even the research won’t change anyone’s behaviour, but perhaps there is someone funded to research that as well.
