'The State of Black Health' will be held at Harrisburg University and is open to the public. It will feature a panel of medical experts exploring racial disparities in health care and why they persist.

From higher risk of death from COVID, to high rates of chronic disease and maternal death, Black Americans face a slew of disparities in access to health care and health outcomes.

These topics will be among the many themes discussed during The State of Black Health, a forum sponsored by the World Affairs Council of Harrisburg to mark Black History Month. The forum will be held from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. on Feb. 16 at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology. It will be preceded by a reception at 6 p.m.

PennLive has partnered with the World Affairs Council to offer free admission to all who want to attend.
