Health insurance claims by cancer patients in South Korea have been misrepresented as a 'spike' in cancer cases following Covid-19 vaccination It's the latest in a wave of misinformation linking the vaccines to cancer, which experts have rebuked

"In 2022, the number of cancer cases tripled. I cannot think of any other explanation besides the Covid-19 vaccines," reads a Korean-languageThe Facebook post shows a photo of a datasheet titled:"Massive spike in patients diagnosed with cancer after Covid vaccinations"., a government agency responsible for reviewing and evaluating healthcare costs and services.

The document says there were between 1.2 million and 1.5 million new cancer cases every year between 2016 and 2021, but that this shot up to more than three million new cancer cases in 2022 -- the year after South Korea began its Covid-19It alleges Covid-19 vaccines are the"direct cause" of the purported rise in the number of cancer cases.The same chart was shared on Facebook
