What is their working definition of pregnancy here? Do they mean the viability of the embryo/fetus, or the health status of the woman throughout the pregnancy?

That is obvious - men's fertility declines just not as fast as women's. We know that men who are older, smoke, don't exercise, etc. are less fertile and probably have lower quality sperm. Maternal age however is the single biggest risk factor by far.
And the health of the partner's sperm is dictated by ...?
