Will Richmond-Coggan is a data protection expert at Freeths law firm who specialises in the retail sector and has advised national chains on their loyalty card data on customers. The lawyer believes this kind of “harmful” interference probably occurs less often now than in the past, when supermarkets were less attuned to the ways in which their algorithms could negatively impact shoppers.
