Dr Lizzie Toberty, GP lead at Doctors’ Association UK, said the ICB appeared to have made a “glaring error” by not taking into account patient opinion.
“Indeed, the evidence shows us continuity of care leads to higher patient satisfaction, lower hospital admissions and better care. DAUK believe continuity of care and relationship based medicine must be at the centre of all future community health policy. Patients in Lancashire have realised what is at stake, and are fighting for it.”
SSP Health chief executive Andy Scaife accused Dr Robinson of “using her position to unsettle the local community” after losing out on the bid.: “We understand that with any change people might have concerns and now that the ICB’s intention has been confirmed we want to address any questions that the team or patients have as soon as possible.
Four of its Merseyside surgeries were rated “inadequate” although two later improved, while SSP was still running them.: “The high standard of the care we provide is clearly evidenced in our excellent Care Quality Commission ratings where all of our practices are at least Good, with 12 per cent rated as outstanding, far above the national average.”
PMGallagher1 This same SSP? 🤔🤔
PMGallagher1 I hope is not the only paper highlighting the takeover of our NHS . This proposed takeover of GPs by a private firm against local opinion & the GPs' wishes is disgraceful. & no doubt planned by the tories decades ago.
PMGallagher1 Andy Burnham broker the deal?…
