Isn’t an individual’s refusal to go for the odd walk or cut out biscuits also a matter of individual will? No it is not. It is people overconsuming the wrong foods, whilst not getting enough exercise. Hardly a disease. Someone once said to me, 'there were no metabolically fat people in Nazi concentration camps.' Graphic but true. If obesity is a disease, it's a mental illness, should be taken seriously and treated accordingly. Unless caused by some physical imbalance, absolutely a choice.
