With the president exhibiting signs of mental instability this might actually.have traction
Here’s a better idea: let’s get rid of the term mental illness - along with the DSM that even the NIMH says is scientifically invalid - and replace it with a spectrum upon which everyone can be measured. Then we can refer to schizophrenia as the developmental disability it is.
Might help with political reporting too.
Schizophrenia is nothing more that being demon possessed. Don't need a cure, just learn how the devil operates in the body. Jesus would tell you the same.
If changing the label to brain disease gets more research $, I am all for it. But bipolar disorder and depression should also, like schizophrenia, be considered brain disorders. Too many see these diseases as moral failings and blame those who suffer for not being strong enough

Why don't you just get the word out that there is a shot for schizophrenia and if need be a family member can be petitioned so they have to show up for their shot once or twice a month. it really isn't hard to treat this disorder. it just takes a little time

Kids with childhood lead poisoning do not qualify for early intervention in almost every state. Not a white kids problem, so it gets nothing.
