The Department of Health (DOH) on Friday logged 256 new COVID-19 cases, while the active tally went slightly down to 10,841 from Thursday's 10,863.

The Department of Health on Friday logged 256 new COVID-19 cases, while the active tally went slightly down to 10,841 from Thursday's 10,863.This was the sixth day straight of less than 300 COVID-19 infections reported daily.At least 20 new deaths were recorded, increasing the death tally to 65,674.

The National Capital Region reported the highest infections with 1,517 cases in the last two weeks, followed by Calabarzon with 730, Central Luzon with 368, Cagayan Valley with 314, Western Visayas with 269. The country’s bed occupancy stood at 19.4% with 5,197 beds occupied while 21,587 were vacant as of Wednesday, January 18.

A total of 11,285 individuals were tested, while 331 testing labs submitted data as of Thursday, January 19.
