“I mostly have to live on a low-carb diet ,” she says. “My clothes are so tight, there’s no room for nothing else in there but me.” On Thursday, Parton will celebrate her 77th birthday. “Those are lucky numbers, so I hope I can stay lucky,” she says with a smile. “Don’t Make Me Have to Come Down There” was inspired by a dream Parton had about God standing on a mountaintop and saying the phrase like a frustrated parent. “It’s what I feel God must be thinking about us, living our lives and not trying to work together,” she says. “The dream woke me up. It was such a strong message that I felt like was a good time to drop it.”. But Parton doesn’t consider any of her numerous projects “work.”
