With less access to paid leave, rural workers face hard choices about health, familyCoastal and politically progressive states have passed stronger paid sick and family leave policies than many states with larger rural populations. No paid leave for any part time workers like students and people with disabilities. So calling in sick (if you have covid for example) means no pay which means missing rent or mortgage. This, in Iowa - cannot call in sick…. Just spread sickness. Rule 1 of the liberal media: Whenever possible show a black except as a criminal suspect. The child wins here.
