I have requested and even volunteered to help organize such an event. I was told, however, these community sessions are usually organized in cooperation with the local councillor’s office. My question is: “Unless out of thin air or our hospitals, where are clinics going to get the nurses to work in the clinics?It is sickening to hear announcement after announcement about new “health” care ideas when what is actually being addressed is “sick” care, as in reactively caring for those who become sick.

Initiatives aimed at actual “health” care, as in proactively keeping peoples’ health intact in order to stay out of clinics and hospitals, might just as well ease the strain on whatever system we have and improve and extend the lives and quality of life for more citizens.
