Texas High School Football Coach Placed on Leave After Allegedly Forcing Players to do ‘Hundreds’ of Push-Ups
The school wrote a letter to parents announcing that the incident occurred on Friday during an off-season workout.“The district is also taking interim action, including but not limited to, placing Coach Harrell on administrative leave while the investigation is pending and notifying appropriate outside agencies,” the letter read, according to. “District administrators and campus personnel have been in contact with the affected families and student-athletes.
That same parent told Fox 4, “As a parent we send our kids to school trusting that they will be cared for at the highest level. That has been the case until this unfortunate event.” The claim that players were not given water and no breaks were given is disputed by Brady Luff, a junior captain on the team.
A coach who couldn't do 40 push ups in a hour is punishing students with 400 push ups. This reminds me of why I quit high school football. These nobody teachers play out there ncaa coaching dreams by throwing their non-existent weight around.
Charlie horses can do that.
I think the 'New Military' may be a good career path for them.
Oops, a little too much
He needs to break out the Spartan whip. That'll teach them a lesson. /s
Rockwall TX. I had a coach like that. Fortunately for us, we were in better shape because we lost a lot of games. Practice practice practice. We weren’t sugar cookies and no one was seriously injured. Sorry for these players. 👍🙏🏻
Football players were always soft when it came to fitness. Wrestlers, daily we would run 10 miles, lift weights for 1.25 hours then wrestle for 1.5 to 2 hours. Daily, including pushups, sit-ups etc. This is a story of a world gone soft.
Very dangerous.
