Jonnie Irwin updates fans on family home refurb amid cancer battle

A Place in the Sun star Jonnie Irwin has shared an update on his project to refurbish his family home amid his cancer battle. The TV presenter, who revealed last year that his cancer is terminal, has spoken about wanting to have a house in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne so his wife Jessica and their three kids can be near her family.

In his latest Instagram post, Jonnie shared a selfie taken in Newcastle with River Tyne behind him, writing: "Went to look at some windows for the refurb. Look at the view some lucky bugger has from their office window…"Many of his 150,000 followers commented on the post with messages of support. Clare Cadman wrote: “Please Some guy with contacts get this lovely chap all the things he and his family need to complete their home.
