She loves her job, she said, but she’s been on strike since early Monday morning, out of the frustration she feels for not providing patients with the care they deserve. In 2019 it was estimated by that over 80,000 qualified applicants were turned away from nursing schools due to insufficient staff to teach them. “A lot of nurses join because they’re motivated to help patients,” said Schabacker. “When there is a shortage, they’re prone to step in and do an extra shift, come in on weekends. If someone is tired, overworked, sleep deprived, they’re going to make more mistakes.” A nurse’s strike won’t help patients in the short term, he said. “It’s a sign of true, understandable desperation.

A LOT of female nurses do some WILD stuff 2 innocent defenseless unconscious male patients under anesthesia. Stories r INSANE. Once they start protecting them OR OR OR start reporting ones who do stuff THEN I'll take the 'for the patients' gimmick seriously. Just a $$$$$ grab
What's sad is that occupations like police, fire fighter and nursing unions were so of the biggest opponents against other works fighting for $15 dollars an hour, they were the crowd making the unskilled comments mostly, but now look at them striking finally foe their own pay.

We have the most expensive and one of the worst healthcare systems in the developed world. Higher infant and maternal mortality rates, higher rates of medical errors, universal healthcare has been proven to work time and time again and would save us money down the line
