'Unwelcome return to unnecessary disruption'
"While we have contingency plans in place, including support from the military, community first responders and extra call handlers, to mitigate risks to patient safety, there will inevitably be some disruption for patients with fewer ambulances on the road." Ben Holdaway, director of operations at the East Midlands Ambulance Service, said teams have worked to maximise the number of staff, though he anticipated a"much slower" response than usual.
South Central Ambulance Service said the strike will involve 200 workers and will mostly disrupt its non-emergency patient transport services.
All calls for an ambulance must be urgent or what is the point calling for an ambulance
We might aswell fill all these strikers jobs with Albanians. They get £40 a month in their country. They’d be so happy with what an ambulance driver gets. Is it really hard to drive an ambulance about?!
Fine for the train drivers to strike for months on end? After all the ambulance workers will likely need to get on a train to get to work! These headlines are pathetic
Solidarity to all strikers today. 💪
Bloody slackers
So nurses and ambulance staff have decided to ‘save the NHS’ by going on strike for higher pay at the point of maximum stress 🤔
