Trooper Shane Kearney, who was seriously injured in Lebanon last month, is no longer critical and is now stable in hospital

"Tpr Shane Kearney continues his recovery in Beaumont hospital.

"He is responding very well to treatment and is no longer critical with his condition now described as stable."The Defence Forces and Tpr Shane Kearney’s family wish to thank everyone for all the support that they continue to receive." He was injured on December 14th, in the same attack that killed Private Sean Rooney, while they were travelling to Beirut.

Private Rooney was laid to rest three days before Christmas - he was described a national hero at the service.
