Went to the ER last night with ongoing chest/arm/back/neck pain.Dr said 'young people don't get heart attacks' I'm 35. he wouldn't give me a chest ultrasound. He admitted if I was older my symptoms would be taken more seriously. THIS IS WHY YOUNG PEOPLE ARE DYING.We are ignored!!

The saddest - and completely outrageous. The only moment this ER acted like an EMERGENCY room was as she died. We’ve become complacent with ER’s being walk-in clinics rather than places for real emergencies to be promptly assessed and treated. It’s the entire HC system.

I‘be seen a kid with an open fracture sitting in the ER at Sunnybrook hospital (Toronto). I heard the father telling triage it had been 5 hours and the nurse said they could only give him pain management since they had no beds. This was 6 yrs ago.
This country has fallen apart. Laws are weak, teachers and staff are underpaid, hospitals are paying the wrong staff the big bucks, criminals who steal cars with guns are getting out after 1 month. Running a business is almost not worth it. Taxes are too high. Trudeau !!!!

Deepest condolences to Allison's family. Yes, lots of system issues, but I can't help but ask if the triage failed her. Young, healthy, fit persons with no obvious broken bones or external bleeding seem to be put low on triage pole, no matter how serious their symptons are.

In Ottawa i spent 10 hours waiting in an Emergency department after a catastrophic car crash to get checked for internal bleeding. Guess that didnt seem urgent. 12 hours before i could get x rays and leave. Our system is broken.

Investigations NEED to happen. I have worked closely with ER stations and have witnessed lazy nurses and doctors finishing a golf round before coming in. Not saying this is the case here. Just saying there needs to be an investigation.
