Pharmacists are warning that a shortage of Calpol may be on the way as they are finding it difficult to get their hands on.
Pharmacists in the UK have already reported that due to skyrocketing demand, it's proving extremely difficult to get Calpol in stock.
"We are seeing so many over-the counter medicines such as paracetamol, ibuprofen and the majority of cough bottles - particularly for dry coughs - we can't get. When it comes to bacterial infection, anyone that needs particular antibiotics or steroids to reduce inflammation of the chest, they are really hard to get at the minute. So it is really challenging for people.Health officials warned last year that a 'tripledemic' could be on the way as flu, RSV and Covid cases spike.
HSE chief operations manager Damien McCallion warned hospital and community care managers in October of the possible surge, the Independent reported. “There has been a particular increase in both RSV and influenza with a significant increase in RSV in children under four years old. We are also continuing to see growth in Covid-19 cases, with some impact of the new Covid-19 sub-variant BQ.1,” he wrote in an internal memo.Read more:
