, with its scientists expected to give a briefing to the World Health Organization on the evolution of the virus later in the day.on COVID-19 controls on Dec. 7, as well as the accuracy of its case and mortality data, have come under increasing scrutiny at home and overseas and prompted some countries to impose travel curbs.

China reported three new COVID-19 deaths for Monday, up from one for Sunday. Its official death toll since the pandemic began now stands at 5,253. Kang Yan, head of West China Tianfu Hospital of Sichuan University, said that in the past three weeks, a total of 46 critically ill patients have been admitted to intensive care units, accounting for about 1% of symptomatic infections.

A “bushfire” of infections in China in coming months is likely to hurt its economy this year and drag on global growth, said the head of the International Monetary Fund, Kristalina Georgieva.“The authorities are making almost no efforts now to slow the spread of infections and, with the migration ahead of Lunar New Year getting started, any parts of the country not currently in a major COVID-19 wave will be soon.

COVID-19: First death of child from virus reported by Ottawa Public HealthIt is the only death recorded in the 0\u002D9 age group from the disease that has claimed 985 lives in the city overall since 2020. 'Child Virus'? WTF is that? So you won't tell us about the child who died. Why is that? If you were to admit that this child had preexisting conditions then our fears would be quelled. Instead you are trying to grow the fear. And to that I say:'Fuck off. Don't even attempt to ruin my 2023!' Um yeah how about you scrub these headlines until you give us more info about the kid, especially other complicating conditions and/or what specifically happened. This garbage will throw gasoline onto nili’s ongoing dumpster fire that there is actual risk to be concerned about.
