Chandra Kavanagh is the new CEO of the Canadian Mental Health Association of Newfoundland and Labrador . ContributedCanadian Mental Health Association of Newfoundland and LabradorKavanagh has extensive experience in organization effectiveness, program delivery, fundraising, human resource management and financial planning. She also has experience with significant fundraising campaigns stewarding multimillion-dollar budgets.

She also teaches at Memorial University’s medical school and the philosophy department specializing in medical and mental health ethics. “I can’t tell you how excited I am to join the team at CMHA-NL. As a teenager, I took part in the Katimavik program. This program took me to Vernon, B.C., where I volunteered for the local CMHA 40 hours per week for three months,” said Kavanagh.

“During this time, I developed a passion for the work of enabling folks with mental health concerns to thrive. At that time, I dreamed that someday I could lead an organization like CMHA-NL.”It has been our privilege to have the trust and support of our East Coast communities for the last 200 years.
