Activists are urging tourists and anyone else enjoying the holiday season in NYC, to avoid riding in a horse-drawn carriage.Protesters gathered in Central Park South on Saturday. They held signs to try to deter visitors from using the horses, suggesting they take a pedicab ride instead. "We're out here educating all these tourists to instead take a pedicab ride. Many people are thankful, many people agree with us. But, a lot of people didn't understand how cruel this is and how these horses are literally being worked to death," Executive Director of NYClass Edita Birnkrant said.for NYC officials to take action against the horse carriage industry.

No horses. No pedicabs (too many irresponsible drivers disrepect pedestrians & many are illegally boosted with E-pedals. Walk or bike.
Those pedicabs are huge notorious rip offs for tourists!!

These activists do not make me not want to take a horse carriage ride. All they do is harass people based on fabrications. The more I see from them the more I'm glad I do not support anti-carriage groups anymore.

Saturday was one of the busiest days that the horse carriage industry has had in the last 5years. Scores of people took a memorial carriage ride in Central Park in spite of the Scrooge protesters
…by illegally claiming they work with the industry and then highjacking customers who intended on a carriage ride. They also regularly harass drivers and attempt to spook horses to try to get an accident to happen to prove a point. They’re just bad people. It’s that simple.
No one was fooled by their very rarely occuring, often decades old, mostly minor incidents recirculated in their ad; Everyone could see the healthy, happy horses in the park in person & ignore the miserable protestors while enjoying their holiday horse carriage rides in the park!
Hope they were ticketed & towed for illegally parking in a bus stop. How many horses in need of rescue could that ad $ have helped? Thankfully they were ignored as long lines of people waited for horse carriage rides with healthy horses in front of them all day!

Protesting all those on bikes who don't follow the rules of the road then blame the vehicle driver when they get hit. Horse carriages don't ignore lights/signs or ride on sidewalks/ come between cars.
