Milliken did not rule it out, citing his mandate letter from the premier that asks him to explore “treatment referral pathways for people with mental-health and addiction issues within the criminal justice system.”“We need to have some sort of compassionate intervention mechanism to ensure that we can figure out ways to ensure that he or she gets the treatment that they need or want,” said Milliken. “And the ultimate goal there is to ensure that we can work toward saving people’s lives.

“It’s great to be able to see leaders at this level coming together to make sure that we co-ordinate the efforts all across that continuum, so that we can have the best outcomes for people that are struggling with addictions, as well as the people in the communities that are communicating that they’re feeling unsafe,” said Neufeld.

Saw two people get on the train at the SAIT station at 7:21 am, Dec 14. The male proceeded to pull out a pipe and smoke what appeared to be methamphetamine. Everyone on the train car was traumatized especially the mothers with small children.

Well done!

Make it leagal to what ever the F you want hand out needles and dope and this is what you get , Wake up !

about time someone took some leadership and started to do something, our phantom mayor is waiting in the wings for her retirement package, make no mistake

Well the municipalities haven't been able to handle these matters by themselves so it's appropriate that the province takes over.

Shouldn't the Mayor of Calgary be speaking to the public about this?

Where is this social disorder?

I can save you a lot of time, flood the c- trains and downtown with police and tell them to get busy.

About time, c train is dirty and unsafe, crackhead everywhere, seems progressive types want to keep things this way, always another study never any action,

Point then toward the abndpcaucus first. They need some help.
