mould has nothing to do with the state of a building, mould is lifestyle, not ventilating rooms, drying clothes on radiators. its avoidable.. you just need education on the real reason mould is created in your home, instead of just pointing fingers at landlords.

Buy some HG mould spray, its £5, when you see it spray it, dont let it spread, it is impossible to eradicate. Its like expecting the landlord to come round and clean the house, most councils do not attend properties if the tenant reports black mould.

Ever asked yourself why is the flat mouldy - what can we do about it and what are the responsibilities of the landlord and as a joint effort shouldn’t all parties be working to improve the situation so things improve

Most of the time its condensation. Use a fan even a small hand held type one in the area affect or by your windows and no condensation thus no damp thus no mould. Electric warm air heating in winter is the future.

Condensation/damp air in homes causes it. Don't put items in corners of room, especially windows. Wipe condensation from windows daily. Use anti-mould spray or bleach.
The social living habits are a lot to blame, pin mould only grows on pure water, condensation is caused by poor ventilation, room needs to be heated enough to evaporate water which needs to be vented out of the windows or extractors. Open trickle vents on windows
