Corner Kicks with Derek Van Diest
Opponents of euthanasia said we would end up on a slippery slope, where vulnerable and at-risk people would be pressured to end their lives with the help of a doctor. I don’t think most of us saw how quickly we would head to such a dark place as a country. A survey of 1,516 Canadians conducted last weekend found that two-thirds of the population doesn’t know about the government’s plans to expand medical assistance in dying to those with mental health concerns. The Leger poll for Postmedia found 43% of respondents agreed that those with depression, bi-polar disorder or schizophrenia should be allowed to seek out MAID while 42% said no, with the rest not answering.
Part of the feedback the government was getting came from the Association of Chairs of Psychiatry in Canada. The organization includes the heads of psychiatry departments at all 17 medical schools across the country.
Unless you have taken care of a terminally sick loved one begging to die, or have seen the hell of long term ‘care’ facilities, take a seat. We show more compassion to our pets. Individuals should be able to decide when they’ve endured enough pain.
When will we see the offer of MAiD at fare reduction centres?
A woman who was VaccineInjured opted for MAID just the other day. This is a whole new level of evil from this government. First they break you. Then they offer you a way out. 🤬💔 CanadaIsBroken TrudeauIsDestroyingCanada RealNotRare CanWeTalkAboutIt StoptheShotsNow
