114 US POWs died in captivity during the Vietnam War. Several died as the result of extreme beatings. One severe beating occurred when Jane received a note from one of the POWs during a hand-shake. She promptly turned it over to the North Vietnam captors.

Maybe her cancer was from the fact that she is a cancer on society. Maybe it was from all the drugs in the 60s and 70s. I can't think of many that would send her 'prayers and good thoughts.' Not after everything she has done.
