PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 1,241 new Covid-19 infections on Wednesday (Dec 15), says the Health Ministry.

Data released on its KKMNow portal on Monday showed that this brings the cumulative total to 5,013,724 cases since the pandemic began.

Of the 1,241 cases, there were three imported cases while the remaining 1,238 were local transmissions.There are currently 17,215 active cases, of which 16,138 individuals are undergoing home quarantine while 1,010 individuals require hospitalisation. Of this number, 67 are warded in intensive care units throughout the country, of whom 43 require ventilator support.Article type: free
