The Ontario government is giving pharmacists the go-ahead to prescribe Paxlovid, the antiviral treatment that is sometimes used in cases of COVID-19.
“All Ontarians are strongly encouraged to keep up to date with vaccinations, which remains the best way for people to stay healthy this flu and respiratory illness season and prevent unnecessary visits to the hospital,” noted officials. Starting Monday, pharmacists will be able to prescribe Paxlovid, either in-person or virtually. However, you should check ahead with their local pharmacy to make sure it’s available.You must get the prescription within five days of your first symptomsAged 18-59 and at a higher risk of severe COVID-19 outcomes
