The Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday logged 1,483 new COVID-19 infections, while the active tally rose to 17,994.

This was the second day straight of more than 1,000 COVID-19 cases were recorded, while the active tally increased fromThe National Capital Region remained the highest region with the most number of cases in the recent two weeks with 5,424.

It was followed by Calabarzon with 2,153; Central Luzon with 1,080; Western Visayas with 880; and Cagayan Valley with 779. The Health Department said the recovery tally pushed to 3,962,544 while the death toll also climbed to 64,820 with 26 new fatalities. At least 12,449 individuals were tested, while 334 testing laboratories submitted data as of Wednesday, December 7.

The bed occupancy in the country slightly increased to 24.1% with at least 6,783 beds occupied and 21,352 were vacant as of Tuesday, December 6.
