Lady Hussey, 83, recently stepped down from her honorary role as one of three Ladies of the Household after Ngozi Fulani, a prominent black advocate for survivors of domestic abuse, revealed that she was repeatedly asked by a member of the Buckingham Palace household about her heritage while attending the Queen Consort's reception earlier in December.
Both Buckingham Palace and Prince William, 40, who is Lady Hussey's godson, released statements calling the comments "unacceptable" shortly after the news broke and Lady Hussey resigned. “Dedicated to meeting people, being nice to them, introducing them. To end up having this done to her is, I think, a shocking thing."
