After a health scare that sent him to palliative care earlier Saturday, Brazilian soccer legend Pelé, 82, is now responding positively to his new treatment.

"My friends I want to keep everyone strong and positive. I’m strong, with a lot of hope and I follow my treatment as usual. I want to thank the entire medical and nursing team for all the care I have received," Pelé said in a statement posted on Instagram."I have a lot of faith in God and every message of love I receive from you all over the world keeps me full of energy. Pelé had been transferred after his chemotherapy stopped having expected results. He was admitted into a hospital earlier this week during his. He had the tumor removed in September 2021 and has been undergoing chemotherapy since.
