The football great's daughter earlier this week sought to reassure fans and counter media reports that claimed doctors were concerned for his health.

Pele has thanked concerned fans for their messages as he spends time in hospital.

The Brazilian football legend said he was making his"monthly visit" and shared a photo of a building in Qatar lit up with his image and the words"Get Well Soon"."Thanks to Qatar for this tribute, and to everyone who sends me good vibes." He signed off with a praying hands emoji and the post got more than 240,000 likes in the first two hours.
