The Department of Health logged 1,238 new COVID-19 infections nationwide on Thursday, as the active tally increased to 18,412.

Based on the DOH’s data, the active tally climbed from 18,043 on Wednesday.The National Capital Region had the highest number of new cases in the past two weeks, with 4,385.It was followed by Calabarzon with 1,925, Western Visayas with 1,051, Central Luzon with 1,025, and Central Visayas with 958.

The recovery tally rose to 3,954,477 with 884 new recoveries, while the death toll climbed to 64,658 with 17 new fatalities.A total of 11,444 individuals were tested on Wednesday, while 327 testing laboratories submitted data.As of Wednesday, the bed occupancy rate in the country stood at 23.9%, with 6,741 occupied and 21,410 vacant beds. —
