Ottawa Public Health continues to report deaths from COVID-19 in the capital, with three residents having died since Friday.

The latest public health data show 968 residents of Ottawa have died of COVID-19 since the pandemic began, 358 of them in 2022.

The amount of COVID-19 circulating in the community appears to be decreasing, with a steady decline in the viral signal detected in the city’s wastewater through November. The testing positivity rate for COVID-19 is also on the decline. The trend comes as influenza rates have been increasing. OPH data show a flu testing positivity rate of 27.5 per cent for the week ending Nov. 26., up from 23.4 per cent for the week ending Nov. 19. OPH reported 78 new lab-confirmed cases of influenza in Ottawa last week.OPH is reporting 18 residents in hospital because of an active case of COVID-19 on Tuesday, down from 25 one week prior. There are four residents in intensive care, up from three one week ago.

OPH hospitalization figures only represent Ottawa residents who are in hospital because of an active case of COVID-19. Local hospitals report higher figures, which include patients who were admitted for reasons other than COVID-19 but have tested positive and patients who are not from Ottawa.Montfort Hospital: 14 patients Since the first case of COVID-19 in Ottawa in March 2020, there have been 86,371 total cases of COVID-19 in Ottawa, including 968 deaths.

i been dodging sick people the last couple weeks.. and there are plenty of them ..wearing masks and coughing their guts out behind the supermarket counter... oh such a joyous Season. When I get home I will wash the sliced deli ham. Such a joyous Season.

How many people in Ottawa died since Friday, all causes? For perspective. How old were the 3 people who died with covid? What core morbidities did they have?

Enough already!

Now publish how many people have been forced to use MAID. Also cancer, aids, auto immune diseases....people die

Can they also report herpes outbreaks.

Now, did they die FROM covid, or did they die WITH covid? I've wondered this all along, but couldn't ask before Musk took over.

Also known as old age. Funny these numbers didn't come out in the summer; only during the annual cold & flue season where old people...die...

If you are going to keep posting these numbers, I want more information about each of these deaths: Age, comorbidities and pre-existing medical conditions, drug, alcohol and tobacco dependencies, Vaccination status, colour of their hair

Do suicide's, cancer, diabetes, obesity , overdose, smoking, alcohol.....

..... Now do 'maids'.... 😕🍁🙏

ok do cancer?

Need to stop reporting this

Were they vaxxed?

Died suddenly?

For a world-class health system, Canada needs to think biggerAs anyone working in health care or trying to access health services in this country right now can attest, Canada’s health system is in crisis. The pandemic certainly hasn’t helped matters, but the truth is that Canada’s health system has struggled for decades. Governments at all levels and of all stripes continue to promise fixes, but all they end up doing is pouring too few dollars into a system that doesn’t work for providers or patients. If we want a world-class health system—one that rivals the pride Canadians have in it—then Canada needs to think bigger. Funding is important, and further investments are needed as we deal with rising costs and inflation, an aging population, and decades of underfunding and under resourcing. But we also need to transform how health care is delivered in this country so that it better meets the needs of people across Canada. Canadian health care is built on a 65-year-old foundation that provides public coverage for hospital and physician services. While this approach served Canada well when it had a young, healthy population, Canada’s population is much older now, with the number of people aged 65 and up set to make up 23 per cent of Canada’s population by 2031. There’s the havoc that COVID-19 and other respiratory viruses are wreaking on our health system and peoples’ health, the ongoing mental health and opioid crises, and a worldwide health workforce shortage. To truly tackle the challenges that our health system is facing, governments need to boost investments in health care and health research, but they also need to spend health dollars differently. This requires a shift in mindset and a move towards increased collaboration to deliver better health care for people across Canada. Canada must break down the silos i

Three new COVID-19 deaths reported in Ottawa in latest snapshotOttawa Public Health continues to report deaths from COVID-19 in the capital, with three residents having died since Friday. ottnews Died OF Covid? or died because they had underlying conditions and covid? MSM putting the spin for the liberal_party JustinTrudeau to push more masking, vaccination mandates and control. I hated the CONVOY, but I will support it next time. We're done and you have 0 integrity! Remember when saying there would be an explosion of flu cases because everyone was masked and isolated was just a conspiracy theory? Cause it’s flu season

Failure of intelligence led to failure in policing during Freedom Convoy: 'levels of law enforcement must act sooner,' say insiders and expertsThe duration and severity of this past winter’s Freedom Convoy protest in downtown Ottawa began with a failure of intelligence leading to a failure in policing, and is “a confirmation of the failure of preparation,” say security experts and insiders following the Public Order Emergency Commission. Wesley Wark, national security expert and a senior fellow at the Centre for International Governance Innovation, said there is now a better understanding of policing failures which were very evident in the early days of the Freedom Convoy occupation in Ottawa and in terms of the border blockades. “Real policing failures, by which I mean an inability to respond quickly and effectively to these occupation, either in Ottawa or at the borders,” said Wark, who added that those failures were a direct product of intelligence breakdown. “Intelligence at all levels, from local police forces, to Ottawa police, to provincial, to federal especially, did not have a good handle on either the intentions or the capabilities of the Freedom Convoy protest,” said Wark. Wark pointed to the OPP’s “Project Hendon,” described in his newsletter as an “ambitious project to bring together law enforcement agencies from across Canada to study the rise of mass civil dissent and protests. The project initially focused on public safety threats prompted by a series of protests surrounding Indigenous issues such as the Wet’suwet’en pipeline protests in British Columbia and related protests in Ontario. The Hill Times photograph by Andrew Meade As the pandemic took hold, the attention of the project shifted to monitoring anti-government activity fueled by opposition to public health measures, according to Wark. “To be fair to the project, their threat assessments on the Freedom Convoy were the best intelligence product that we’ve seen,” said Wark. “The pr mike_lpnt Can we talk about the stupidity of “mandate freedom” as a slogan? mike_lpnt influence of the trumpcult and DonaldJTrump infecting Canadians. one of the more serious pandemics Canada is facing. be aware of the TrumpClown!!! cdnpoli (subs) mike_lpnt Be honest.
