Twitter's newest sales chief Chris Riedy is relocating from Dublin to San Francisco to try to revive its ailing ad business under Elon Musk

Riedy hosted a hastily arranged all-hands with Musk for Twitter's sales team on Sunday, in which Twitter's new owner discussed his plans for ads and the implications of reinstating Trump's account, a person familiar with the matter said. Bloomberg alsoSunday's all-hands was the first time Musk had directly addressed the sales team, people familiar with the matter said.

People familiar with the matter said Riedy had told Musk in-person that his tweets had made it difficult for marketers to feel comfortable advertising on the platform. For family-oriented Riedy, the move back to San Francisco will mark a welcome homecoming after he relocated to Dublin specifically to take the VP EMEA role in 2021. It had required frequent travel and he had already been considering a move back to the US in recent months, people familiar with the matter said.

Now, he's faced with re-establishing Twitter's lines of communications with advertisers. Some ad buyers have told Insider they're unclear who their main contacts at Twitter are now, given the deluge of departures.
