Hayley Prenter is one of almost 40 per cent of 16-24 year olds who reported a mental health condition last year, whose treatment plans will be cut short if the federal government stops funding an extra 10 sessions a year.

The government's Better Access initiative doubled the number of bulk-billed mental health sessions available to patients, from 10 to 20 in 2020 and 2021.Australian Psychological Society President Tamara Cavanett said more than two million Australians accessed the sessions last year alone, the majority of them young Australians, especially women.

"I definitely still need to access psychology, I suffer a lot with anxiety and depression and my psychologist at the moment is really helping with that," she said.

The irony is that the extra “Covid” sessions are accessed for non-Covid reasons. Existing patients utilising the bonus sessions to treat existing MH issues.

Yet all the loony leftie drips want more lockdowns. Why? Because they're old white boomers, the most selfish of generations (WWII not withstanding).

This is horrible. If the government (state and federal) are happy to do lockdowns, then they need to support those mentally impacted. Especially the young.

I don’t know how I would have survived without the extra sessions. Not having to “ration” sessions has meant having the support I need when I need it.

Isn’t that Medibank’s job! Their lax security enabled this outrage! This is so obviously another pathetic fear campaign. VERY transparent where this is going.
