Two health personnel with the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH), accused of manslaughter have finally surrendered to the Nigeria Police Force for investigation, SaharaReporters has learnt. One Dr Chibuoke and a nurse working with the hospital were accused of prescribing and administering drug that killed one late Janet Nwaosu on October 18, 2022.

SaharaReporters had reported that the family of late Romanus Nwaosu of Amaeta village in Mgbowo, Awgu local government of Enugu State had while accusing Dr Chibuoke and a nurse of being responsible for their mother's demise alleged that they had injected her with a drug that killed her few minutes after.

It also reported that the Divisional Police Officer of Ozalla Police Division had earlier written to the UNTH Chief Medical Director, Dr Obinna Onodugo, on October 20, to produce the said suspects but he allegedly ignored the police request.

Sources told SaharaReporters on Friday that the two accused health practitioners submitted themselves to the police on Thursday as demanded by the deputy police commissioner.
